North State Builds Pre-Apprenticeship
‘North State Builds’ is committed to expanding apprenticeship opportunities for local residents. In partnership with the California State Building & Construction Trades Council, ‘North State Builds’ will be offering a Pre-Apprenticeship program right here in Northern California starting in 2021. Our program offers classes in Redding, Eureka, Chico, Colusa and Marysville. Classes will follow the ‘Multi Craft Core Curriculum’ (MC3) that was developed by Building Trades leaders and educators around the country.
Our goal with this program is to connect motivated local residents with good paying, middle class jobs in the Building Trades RIGHT HERE in the North State. Through grant funding in connection with SB-1 and a partnership with the North Central Counties Consortium, we intend to train hundreds of workers through this program to substantially expand the construction workforce in the North State.
We are committed to working with community and faith-based organizations, as well as with local school districts, to identify and connect great North State applicants with our program. The ‘North State Builds MC3’ program is cost-free, unlike other for-profit programs operated around the area. Additionally, completing our program offers gateways to joining apprenticeship programs in many of the individual crafts, like plumbing, pipefitting, electrical, sheet metal and many more.
